Buhari must be regretting his arrest of Nnamdi Kanu. Rather than it stopping Biafra, it catalysed it

Before the illegal arrest of Nnamdi Kanu, one can rarely see Biafran Flag any other place in Nigeria apart from some spots in the  old Eastern Region (South East and South South). But today Biafran flag is being flown right at the Federal Capital of Nigeria, barely few hundreds of metres from Aso Rock, the Nigerian seat of power. That is progress!

Very soon an soon indeed, 'General' Muhammadu Buhari will be seeing Biafran flag through the windows of his room in Aso Villa.

This was a progress made possible by bumbling Buhari who almost singlehandedly catapulted the quest for the restoration of the Republic of Biafra to the limelight.
Today, one can see thousands of Biafrans protesting in the streets of Abuja in solidarity with the phenomenal Nnamdi Kanu, their unlawfully-detained leader. courageous Biafrans defile murderous Nigerian security forces (who had killed them to the extent that they got tired at opening fires at unarmed and peaceful protesters) to voice out their demand for the independence of Biafra. They all in tandem say "Biafra or Death!" can you beat that?
Buhari must be regretting his arrest of Nnamdi Kanu. Rather than it stopping Biafra, it catalysed it
As long as Kanu is continued to be detained illegally, Biafra is geometrically being projected both at the local and international circles. Many ignorant Nigerians who previously discarded Biafrans, have come to learn that there is something called right to self-determination. Many Nigerians have come to the realisation that Nigeria is not a nation created by God (as the corrupt leaders often claim) but rather a mere geographical expression cobbled together by the British for their economic convenience.

Buhari's best bet is to quickly release Kanu, because the arrest of Kanu rather than quietening and suppressing Biafran agitation has escalated it. And the escalation continues by teh day.

After today's court proceedings where Kanu accused Buhari of committing treason against Nigeria, a social media commentator Ken Agala observed:

Is toppling a democratic government treasonable ?

Did PMB do that ?

But Nnamdi should have known that we don't live in an Egalitarian society .

I think PMB should pardon Nnamdi the same way Nigerians pardoned him for his past treasonable act.

One good turn deserves another .

So far, the IPOB hasn't been known to be violent and detaining Nnamdi hasn't reduced or stopped whatever they've been doing .

The Radio Biafra is still very much on air and IPOB activities remain very active . So detaining or jailing Nnamdi wouldn't solve the problem .

Anayo, another commentator wrote:

"The worst mistake ever made by this government is arrest and detention of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. Everyday Kanu goes to court it makes headlines both local and international, and it is an embarrassment to this regime. Many of his sympathizers believe Kanu is a prisoner of conscience. The Biafra agitation the government is trying to suppress is being brought out to lime light thereby advancing the cause of the agitation. That is why Soludo said" Nnamdi Kanu threw a bait and the federal government is trapped in it" .l cannot agree more, rather than ignoring Kanu and his troublesome group PMB wanted to show his raw power. Now with the aid of internet, globalisation and Kanu's rare courage PMB cannot suppress an idea whose time has come
lt was martin Luther King junior who said " Give me freedom or dearth" and Kanu seem to be in agreement with this marxim."
