TaShawn, a wife to Bolaino Akwenuke (a warlord/close associate of Tompolo) visited Warri, Delta state, last December with intentions to do mission work in villages affected by the spills. TaShawn spent four months there and was unable to do anything due to high crime in the areas.

On Saturday, September 24th, the news filtered in that Niger Delta Avengers had on Friday, September 23, 2016 destroyed a major oil export pipeline in Bonny, Rivers State. The action marked the end of temporary ceasefire the Avengers have been observing. The date chosen was quite significant as it was the same day the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) undertook a global protest to demand for the release of Nnamdi Kanu, the Biafran leader, currently being illegally detained by the Nigerian government. 

Whereas global protest took place outside Nigeria, people in Biafraland observed a Sit-at-home-home protests that recorded historic 98% compliance. Before the end of the day, Avengers struck, to probably register their support for the free Nnamdi Kanu protest.

The High Command of the Niger Delta Avengers (NDA) and the entire membership on behalf of the good people of the Niger Delta offer our condolences to the families and Mr. President, Muhammadu Buhari, C-In-C of the armed forces of the federal republic of Nigeria, on the soldiers murdered in the ongoing military operation cum exercise codes named "Operation Crocodile Smiles". Mr. President from available facts, the untimely deaths of these four (4) fine soldiers in the creeks of Bayelsa and another sixteen (16) that was recorded during the first four days of the exercise along the River Ethiope, in Delta state but was earlier covered up is nothing more than act of murder.

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) hereby categorically state that we and our brothers the Niger Delta Avengers (N.D.A.) are inseparable in our quest for Biafra restoration. Just as N.D.A. stated in their demands which the Nigerian Government is very much aware of but has chosen to ignore, there will be no negotiation if there is no freedom for the leader of IPOB Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. Nigeria will avert imminent doom only if Buhari is compelled by civilized nations to obey existing court orders and release Nnamdi Kanu unconditionally.

Following the press conference earlier today by our legal team, the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Worldwide has been reliably and incontrovertibly informed that some of the utterances of their defence lawyers were made without consultation. These utterances border on negotiations and some were against the Niger Delta Avengers. As a result of this unsolicited and unguarded utterances, the defence team has been sacked and will be replaced. The IPOB leader wishes to state categorically that the only thing we are open to is negotiations that will lead to modalities and processes to restore Biafra and avert further hardships on the people of Nigeria who have been under bondage since his kidnapping and illegal detention.
