| Busted! No indication from the White House that President Trump called Buhari |
There is no indication that the purported call between United States president, Donald J. Trump, and his ailing Nigerian counterpart, 'General Muhammadu Buhari, ever took place.
At least President Trump a passionate Twitter user has not mentioned this. This suggests the call either did not take place or Trump was unenthusiastic about it.
Checks on WhiteHouse websites revealed details of other phone calls President call had had with world leaders and none mention the purported one with Buhari (see details below).
Search for Buhari or Nigeria on the revamped Whitehouse website returned zero result.
It has also been pointed out that such an official call would not have been taking from Buhari who is supposedly receiving treatment for an undisclosed ailment, rather with Prof Osinbajo, who is the Nigerian Acting President.
You have to give a little credit to Buhari's team coming up with the story of Buhari phones Trump. But lets be reasonable a) a president who has been ill who has taken a leave of absence would not suddenly get up and phone Trump when his own people don't know his own well being. b) currently there is officially an acting president so he would be making the lets say business calls for Nigeria for the time being, you would think. @trump how does it feel to be used for a fake alibi
