At last foot-dragging orders belated probe of his highly CORRUPT top aides including SGF, EFCC boss
'General' Muhammadu Buhari has finally woken up to stare back at his highly corrupt government. Ever since his regime was foist on Nigerians, Buhari's government which claims to be fighting corruption has been accused to be the most corrupt. This is because majority of his ministers and top aides are all corrupt. The case of the Secretary to the Federal Government (SGF), the Chief of Army Staff and former governor of Rivers State has been outstanding. Yet Buhari has foot-dragged to tackle the corruption entrenched in his government.

However, recent developments had finally forced his hands and Buhari has ordered for the probe of one of his top aides.

A news bit from the News Agency of Nigeria reads:

President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, to commence investigation of the Secretary to Government of the Federation, SGF and other government officials allegedly accused of wrongdoing.

Malam Garba Shehu, the president’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, made this known on his Facebook page on Sunday.

He said that the president, who expressed concern over the increasing media reports alleging various accusations of corruption against certain individuals in government, has vowed to prosecute any government official found wanting in the discharge of his/her responsibility.

“The attention of the presidency has been drawn to a number of reports in the media in which various accusations of corruption have been levelled against some top officials in the administration.

“In that regard, President Buhari has instructed the Attorney General of the Federation to investigate the involvement of any top government officials accused of any wrong-doing.

“If any of them are liable they will not escape prosecution.’’

Some government officials, including Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal, the acting Chairman of the EFCC, Ibrahim Magu and others were allegedly accused of various wrong-doings by the Senate.
