A delegation of Alaigbo Development Foundation, ADF, led by its President, Prof Uzodinma Nwala, met with the President General of Ohanaeze Ndiigbo, Chief Nnia Nwodo at his Enugu residence in the morning of Monday March 20, 2017. Others in the delegation include the Financial Secretary, Dr. Jerry Chukwuokolo and the Membership Secretary, Dcn Okechukwu Chukwuemeka.

The Nigerian Senate President, Bukola Saraki yesterday said that what Nigeria as a country needed at the moment, is full recognition of the Igbo as a people. Saraki said the country needed the people of the South East geo-political zone of the country more than ever. The Senate President spoke yesterday in Abuja while declaring open the 4th Made-in-Aba Trade Fair holding in the nation’s capital city and facilitated by Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, Abia South.

In an angry retort to a question thrown at him in his recent Media chat, President Muhammadu Buhari asked, “What do they (Igbo) want?” 

“Who is marginalizing them?” 

In his own defence, he said the Minister of state for oil in his government is Igbo, the Minister for Science and Technology is Igbo, and of course, the Governor of the Central Bank too. He might also have added the Foreign Minister Mr. Geoffrey Onyeama, Minister of Labour & Productivity (it used to be Establishment), Dr. Chris Ngige, the Minister for Transport, Rotimi Amechi, the Minister for Trade, Industries and investment, Dr. Okey Enelemah, and the junior Minister for education, Anthony Anwuka.
