Abdullahi the vocal mouthpiece of the Northern Elders Forum was the Vice-Chancellor of the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and a former Former Adviser on Food Security to ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo, also called on the Nigerian government to fight  the Niger Delta Avengers before taking on Boko Haram.
