DSS kidnaps IPOB coordinator: IPOB raises alarm over kidnap of its Africa reps

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has raised alarm over the alleged incessant kidnapping of its members by security operatives in the South East and South-South geo-political zones, saying the latest victim was its Africa representative, Mr. George Onyeibe. Onyeibe, who hailed from Agbor, Delta State, and a member of IPOB’s Directorate of State, DOS, was allegedly kidnapped from his house at Obiakpor, Rivers State by people suspected to be members of the Department of State Services, DSS.

IPOB members on solidarity march Media and Publicity Secretary of IPOB, Mr. Emma Powerful, said in a statement in Awka that the security operatives ransacked Onyeibe’s house and rough handled members of his household during the operation. According to him, it was Onyeibe’s neighbour who observed the disturbing incident, that informed IPOB leadership of what transpired.

According to Powerful, “As we speak, the whereabout of Mr. George Onyeibe is unknown to his people and IPOB members.” He called on the United Nations, UN, Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, the US government, European Union, EU, and African Union, AU, among others, as well as men and women of good conscience around the world, to prevail on the Nigerian government and her security agencies to release Onyeibe and others, or charge them to court, if they were still alive.
